“In the Late 1930s I witnessed my first baptism in fresh water. It was near Brunswick, Tennessee, in a small pond close to where I used to go horseback riding." (Below and Right Photos)

“Preacher was the janitor for the Memphis Academy of Arts in Overton Park. I was taking a sculpturing class. The professor introduced me to Preacher and I was enthralled with the idea of witnessing a baptism in a river. A few of us from school were enthralled with the baptizing. When we were in church, Preacher took pride in introducing us to his congregation. We stood as we were introduced. It was a thrilling experience to witness baptism in the river. After all, it was the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized.(Right and Left, Above and Below Photos)”
